my theory: they said that when raewhas mom resurfaced her paintings were different and more vibrant, and even itae said the paintings didn't seem like the type that raewhas mom would paint. so I think those were raewhas paintings all along, and they said that the last painting before raewhas mom's death was dull in comparison so everyone believed it was raewhas. but I think it was actually her mom's, and maybe she ended things because of that fight they had n realized that they couldn't live like this. Her dad doesn't want it to get out that it was actually her paintings they were making money off of using her moms name so when he saw her painting again he broke her hand and sent her to that hospital and made her forget everything. though earlier when itae first met raewhas dad itae said there were strange truths mixed in with what he said so maybe the illness refers to something that happened leading up to her mom's death?
