It wasn’t too clear for me either, but it sounded like they were in some sort of relationship before the MC owed him money. And the boss might have had a kink of watching the pearls come out of him while he was getting screwed by other people. Anyway, whatever they had ended badly and now he owes him money so he told him that if it wasn’t for the money he owes him, he wouldn’t still be associated with him or wtvr.
Either way I’m thankful for our other MC telling him about the scissors because that boy’s definitely been using that to defend himself.
