What's the point of having a boyfriend when he's not even relevant to the plot. He's only ever been useful when she was guilty for little bit. Then out of nowhere, author pulls out the boyfriend was actually cheating card. Should've just made the plot about her and her superior without the boyfriend. She could've still had those feelings of being burdened and not wanting the the baby.
