I mean, I know Violet is the ML, but he needs to sack up and tell the king how he really feels. He is a master of scheming manipulation. He could figure out a way for them if he really wanted to, but he's already decided that it won't happen

This is the perfect example of how the cycle of abuse happens. Her husband mentally and emotionally destroyed her. She starts a new relationship and takes that trauma out on the new partner. The new partner who didn't do anything wrong is now distraught and feeling the same turmoil. And so on...

That was a realistic outcome that usually isn't shown in these types of stories. It's a difficult thing to overcome. Hopefully ML will continue to try to pull her out of the shell she's created to protect herself
