They easily fit the characters in the traditional tale, but they've been allowed to be more than one dimensional. Ashley would be an incredibly frustrating sibling and daughter, especially since they don't have the money to replace all the things she destroys. Good intentions aren't always the only thing that matters. I love how "new Mildred" is pushing the girls to learn new things and be self sufficient. She's encouraging them to be more than just someone's wife....The irony of the old Mildred taking her frustrations out on Ashley for not being good at anything except being pretty is not lost on me since Mildred herself didn't actually know how to do anything except be a pretty wife either

I applaud her for standing up for herself, but now she's gotta stay and work through this mess that she made. Every time Regan does his best to start opening up she slaps him down and stalks off. Regan may have been self destructive to begin with, but she's not helping. He obviously doesn't need someone to run his household, he needs unwavering mental and emotional support. I don't think the FL is strong enough to handle it
Your family and friends' relationships aren't yours to choose. Your approval isn't required for a relationship that isn't your own. This kind of garbage destroys love and trust that has been built over lifetimes. All meddling does is drive a wedge in between you and the person you think you're protecting.
