The first 50 chapter happen in the FUTURE where Zhan and Jian Yi are around 18 - 19. Zhan is in college and Jian Yi has returned to China after being gone for years and has to make up high school. It's just small skits about their current life. After that the rest of the chapters start a flashback to the PAST when the guys are in middle school (14-15), and that's from where the story actually builds.

Yep exactly. All we know is that it happens their first day of high school. Right now their in their last year of middle school/junior high.

Zhan and Jian Yi are utterly devoted to one another. Jian Yi almost seems asexual except when it comes to Zhan and vice versa for Zhan. They never show any interest in anyone else.
Mo doesn’t seem much interested in romance and He Tian is so possessive and jealous he’d put an end to any potential love triangles fairly quickly.
