if u fast pass its up to chpt 10, but if u dont want to spend money (thats ok), then in less than 2 weeks you will get to read chpt 7 for free. and u can always pop down to naver and read the raws if u want spoilers while u wait (someone alrdy linked it below). hope this helps

Free but also not free if you want to read more chapters lol. the authors on webtoon always do like 20 or 40 chapters than slowly pump them out so we pay to see it smh

wrong. it is COMPLETELY free. paying for a fast pass is not charging for the content. all u have to do is wait and each chpt will be available within a week. EVEN if u fast pass, (which is will go no further than 5 eps ahead but often is only 3 eps ahead depending on which comic it is), once u reach the end of the FP chpts that its. u now have to wait a week just like everyone else does. and then u either pay for the next fp chpt that drops each week or u just wait 3-5 weeks and then u can continue u from where u left off for free. it is entirely possible to read comics on webtoon without spending a single cent. ur not owed the comics as fast and as immediately as chpts are available. no artist has 20 chpts in the can from the jump. at most they have 10 at once, and then 5 will be free at debut and then anywhere from 3-5 will be fast pass chpts. lthey dont "slowly" pump them out. all webtoons are released weekly, 1 chpt at a time, ALL Of them. it's not some kind of trick or scam. thats why eventually when u run out of FP chpts, u then have to wait a week just like u would if u only read for free. u just get to peek at certain chpts a lil sooner, u get to see the end of the story a little faster, that is if u FP all the way to the finish. and this is the same business model that naver is using. readers in korea also dont get their chpts any faster than we do. FP is a great way to show support to artists/works that you really love. it is a way for artists to make more than meager salary that webtoon pays cuz idk if u knew this but actually webcomic creator isnt the most lucrative or stable profession to be in. so like...yeah, some chpts are paywalled (for 1 week!) cuz artists dare to want to be paid for their work. at the end of the day tho u dont have to pay if u dont want to. u can read the whole series without paying a cent all at once in a day if u wait until the final episode drops if u hate waiting that much. u can also peek at the raws which are ofc ahead of webtoon eng (since the non eng webtoon originals all debut on naver aka in korean first) by going to comic.naver site and then u can satisfy ur curiosity for free by looking at the korean chpts ahead of their eng translation release. so like, this is a non issue as far as im concerned. and as long as u can access the entire story without paying money then it is free. just cuz u want it all Right Now and cant have it doesnt make that any less true.

Most comics, especially on Webtoon do the whole 40 chapter mark or completed and make you pay to read or wait a week for something that's practically done. I do not disagree with paying the artist or anything like that but what platforms like Webtoon is doing specifically is garbage.

No one is saying they don’t want to support the artists or feel like they shouldn’t have to. Literally no one is saying that all at when bringing up the real issue of these daily passes.

What we are saying is that this feature and its functions are completely unreasonable. Example. Girls of the Wild has 260 episodes and only 14 for free without daily passes. Which means you have to buy coins for 246 episodes. You would need over 1,000 coins and would be spending over $100 for a story you would once again have to purchase if you wanted to reread again after 14 days. Thats blatant robbery.

You can support the artist and also not get scammed at the same time. A one time ,fixed price would make more sense if this is the road they want to go down. We typically only make one time purchases for any other content we consume unless we are talking monthly subscriptions (my point is again proven with one time yearly subscriptions). What they are doing makes no sense and is obviously driven by greed. Anyone can see that and we aren’t wrong for not being ok with it or speaking out on it. You can find a way to support the artists and not rip off your readers at the same time.

Yes you can wait to read the next chapter for a new chapter/episode but what's the point in completing a comic and reselling it when it's already a year or two years old? Find another way.

Ok, so this is incorrect. first of all Daily Pass and Fast Pass are different things. Fast Pass which is what i was talking about is only for ongoing comics. comics that have not yet finished their publication, or comics that have just started. no comic that has only just begun publishing has 40 chpts in the can. thats just not how that works. making 1-2 chpts can take a full week of work from a creator. thats why we only get 1 chpt a week for series that are still running. the reason new seasons or new series start with more chpts than that is because the artist had more time to work on preparing for that release. anyway fast pass does cost money BUT u dont have to use it. it is purely optional.

Now lets get into Daily Pass, it sounds to me like you've never actually used it because u think it costs money but it does not. let me repeat myself, Daily pass is free and does not require any money to use or unlock. Daily pass is just webtoon's fancy way of sayign "wait for free" most comic platforms have an option where u can read 1 new episode every 24 hours (some of them make u wait longer than 24 hours but not webtoon!). Daily pass is for comics that have been 100 percent completed. they are done and dusted. and that means fast pass is no longer viable for it. so usually after a couple of months if not longer, a completed comic will still be free in its entirety until its put under daily pass. at which point u can read 1 chpt a day or u can pay. here's the thing, what u said is only true if someone wants to read girls of the wild ALL AT ONCE in the same day. and for the record i doubel checked and you can in fact unlock 2 free chpts a day on daily pass for that comic and that is the case for most comics that are 200 eps or more. So u can read 2 eps a day of Girls after ep 14 for as long as it takes to finish it or! u can read do that for as long as it would take to get to a point where it doesnt cost 1k coins to finish it. most people if they want to buy print comics in person would be paying at least 6-20 bucks depending on the size of it, the amount of coloring, etc. so like, that in mind, the coin pack prices on webtoon are pretty reasonable and also once again totally optional!

but that IS what ur saying when u imply that u want the full comic, right now, for free, cause u feel that you Deserve to. like how does webtoon sustian itself then? or its artists? mangago isnt "free" either it uses ads and other less obvious/shady methods to make a shit ton of money off of us. like im still using it, but if something is free to read elsehwere with professional translations then ofc i would tell everyone and myself to read it there instead. the majority of comics on webtoon is free to read even when its completed, daily pass doesnt cost money it just costs u some minor patience which if u are a busy adult u dont have the time to read a 260 ep comic in one sitting anyway. between the time i need to sleep, cook, eat, workout, then do paperwork for university...thats not much time left to read comics anyway, so daily pass works fine for me but tbh i rarely have to use it since so much that i want to read is not DP and i prioritize that first. basically DP is free, FP is not free but optional, and this comic we're in the comment section for is still ongoing and thus not under daily pass either on naver or webtoon eng (and its ironic u are calling out webtoon as garbage when this is the cheapest most accessible webtoon platform available)

i couldn't agree more! line webtoon really the best. it's free, has good comics/webtoons, gives small amounts of free coins for easy events, and artists can be supported.
