i think there was a rumour about him and a girl that got out of control in the past and the vice president helped him. based on how he reacts when people do things to girls(and guys, more specifically, himself) without their consent the situation couldve ended up two ways. the girl probably made a rumour about him forcing himself onto her when she was rejected or she tried to force herself on to him when he disagreed or rejected her. im probably reaching with this theory but he must have a good reason for treating her (and every person thats shown romantic interest in him) that way.
it could also be the fact that hes a homosexual. now this i dont really believe but there have been hints about it in the midnight walk chapter where that stupid guy (the forceful black knight of the earlier chapters and member of the student council) adressed some rumours with a group of drunk freshman and the vice president over heard.
