(The Grand Duke’s people.) Basically, Sian was forcefully taking powert that the Grand Duke had stolen. He did this because he was going to save Elena, but when he discovered her body, he was too late. K, so, back to the Imperial Palace. Sian went up to the room where Ian and Veronica was. The real Veronica had come back and swapped with Elena. He nearly murdered her, he really was about to, but instead he took Ian and told the real Veronica that she’d never see him again.
He said to Ian: “Ian, your mother. She was the most beautiful and wise woman in the world. I’ve never stopped loving her for a moment. So let’s remember. Although she may have lived as a shadow, she was a great Queen. You and I must not forget, Ian. Do you understand?”
I definitely recommend reading the novel, it gets you in the feels more with the build of momentum.

As soon as Sian sees her at the art festival as well, he recognizes her. Then Elena tells him that she’s a substitute further into the story.
