I think Daddy needs to get laid.
Uh oh. Somebody took my comment seriously. Well, anyway, if you're referring to the scenes where the ML told the FL that he will never touch her body; that he doesn't intend to have another wife or perform his duties as a husband; and, made it clear that he's a trash and doesn't need her, then I would like to say that I had no troubles comprehending the above-mentioned scenes. :) I am well aware that my comment contradicts my statement; it is a facetious remark.
ALL THEY'VE DONE WAS TO HUG. WHERE'D Y'ALL GET THE IDEA THEY DID SEX? I SEE Y'ALL HAVE BEEN THIRSTY LIKE ME LMAO. STEP ON ME, ROXANA.
I think it’s because of the “ulterior motives” which roxana mentioned he had with her. I understand that other’s may think it’s nonsexual bcs she loathes him but prior before she said that, she did the “damsel-in-distress, please-dont-leave-me” act which made dion stop and went back to her immediately. He responded meekly and looked like he was enchanted so that left a sexual-insinuation when she said that he had ulterior motives with her. I mean, a guy as sadistic/apathetic as dion stopping for a woman?? Why would he stop when he’s about to hunt/kill cassius and would prolly make Roxanne cry/desperate(which he’s obsessed with)?? What could roxana offer that would make him be like this??
Familial affection?? He ain’t jeremy. And what he’s obsessed with roxana is her tears/despair. So how is that connected to familial affection?? It doesn’t seem like it and it goes against his character.
So the hug at the end became more sexual since we know that she hates him to the core, sees him as a vile person, but why tf would she embrace him? She could’ve just left her hand on his shoulder if this is all just about companionship. But no...she embraced him and the panel pans out from the distance makes it look like they kissed(altho im not sure if they really did).
Taking into account that the family is fucked up, incest isn’t that farfetched of an idea either. And when roxana was hugging him at the end, saying they’ll both have nowhere to go but hell anyway, that just nailed it to the coffin that there’s something very alabama going on.
I think people thought that they had sex because they misunderstood what Dion felt for Roxanna (plus the words used). I hope they will end the whole discussion about this in the next chapter by letting us know what happened after "that" scene.
I believe that Dion is obsessed with Roxanna, like mad obsessed. He fancies Roxanna like a dog would to its owner. In this case, a dog is actually a LOT better than Dion. He's madly obsessed with her, and even more obsessed with a weak and crying Roxanna. Alexa, play "Psycho" by Red Velvet.
You see, Dion is a major simp for Roxanna. Mind you, simping and insanity is not a good combination. He purposely does things that'll put him on Roxanna's bad side just for her attention. For instance, the monster and mother incident, and this whole "I-can-spill-the-tea-if-I-want" scene. He blackmailed/threatened Roxanna resulting into an alliance, which I believe is his "ulterior motives". Dion craves for her; he knows that if he uses the knowledge he have, he'll get her attention (and the boi succeeded).
Again, Dion likes seeing Roxanna weak and vulnerable so he can play that "superhero" act and get a hold over her; and Roxanna knows it. What made me think that way? Her decision upon knowing Dion's motives. The “damsel-in-distress, please-dont-leave-me” act is the proof that she knows. By doing that, she got the result she was aiming for. It, like what you've said, "made dion stop and went back to her immediately"; and "he responded meekly and looked like he was enchanted". Those are what she was expecting to happen.
Even though she saw right through him, she agreed to form an alliance with him. However, according to her, she doesn't actually need anything from Dion, because she loathes him. Nevertheless, when Dion told Roxanna what he knows (well, more like blackmailed her), she agreed to be Dion's ally (Dion's ulterior motives). Why? To feed Dion's ego, because that is what he expects from her. His ulterior motives are: 1) to have control over Roxanna by 2) forming an alliance. The "hand the leash" isn't a sexual term (at least it isn't when we look at the context). I think it's an idiom which means "to control someone".
To answer your questions, a) Dion did not stop just because of a woman. Roxanna, for him, is more than "just a woman". b) About the question of why Dion chose not to hunt Cassis, the answer is actually there - his obsession with Roxanna. c) What can Roxanna offer to him? Control over her. She allowed him to put a leash on her, figuratively speaking. d) Why the need to embrace him? To make it all believable.
Did I make any sense? Well, basically, Dion's plan is to control Roxanna. Roxanna made it clear that she's aware of it and abhors Dion. In conclusion, considering the facts despite the background of their family, there are no chances that they had sex. It is more believable that Roxanna is just toying with Dion like the queen she is. This is just my opinion, though. And I don't know why I wrote this, but I'm certain that I'll laugh at myself if it turns out that I'm wrong lol.
