Since ya'll wanted and explanation:
At some point in the story the female lead gets kidnapped. The original Korean author of the novel had written something that deals with a sensitive topic. (This is referring to having the female lead raped and impregnated). Later, due to criticism from readers, the Korean author decided to change the original wording of the novel (the wording became more tame and she decided that instead of writing/describing something as triggering as rape, she wrote about how her face may or will become disfigured).
Some context here: this was a problem 2 years ago. And mind you the 'rape' that was going on were just THREATS. The author changed it from threatening the female lead with rape to the threatening to disfigure her face. So whether or not the author wrote about rape or not, it wouldn't of actually happened. The korean audience back then just found the word much too disturbing so they changed it. There were no explicit scenes such as rape in the novel so don't worry. Things just get misheard and lost in translation.
