He kept writing about how yaewoon smiles at him a lot when other guys usually are not into smiling at other guys, how he initiates talk and ask for notes about lectures from him in particular, how he seems to borrow notes or books and give them back at late hours.

He kept writing about Y (this is how he addresses him in his diary) and how cute his actions are. He stared to misunderstand that Y is in love with him.
Chaemin mistakenly think that the study time they have together is like a "study date at the library" since there are a lot of sunbae who he could ask around, but Y is asking him "especially".
This cute patotie writes that in November he saw on the search history of Y "how to confess to a friend" and think he's gonna confess to him and in his mind he's already think of accepting... Poor guy.. heard that Y started dating a middle school classmate. He wanted to bite his tongue and die when Y showed him that they had a girlfriend. He thought Y liked him seriously. He blocked Y and did not talk to him.
On a drunk moment he enlisted to the military and is regretting it (this happend in early December)
On April he wrote that someone is messing with him and he misses Y.
August: he's out and heard that Y is not in a relationship anymore
