I DO like this and am looking forward to more but the contrived reason he was fired from his previous job annoyed me. Self inflicted wounds and defensive wounds are different and Doctors, nurses, emt's and police can tell the difference. Now I'm not saying that victim blaming and shaming doesn't exist but the idea that they would say his wounds were self inflicted in ridiculous. Now if they fired him anyway because of prejudices that would have been fine but as it is that was WAY too contrived for my tastes. I just feel the author could have done a better job with that. Also um principle, maybe explain what the teachers are in for BEFORE their first day. Just tossing a person into a job with DEMONS and glammoring (vampire lore) FOXES with no explanation, how the hell have you kept this school a secret??
Just throwing it out there but you DO put a touch of salt in pancake batter. You put a little salt in most sweets, cookies, cakes, pies, they all have a little salt in them. It enhances the flavor.
