to anyone confused about why jooha isnāt producing pearls: oysters produce pearls because of irritants that get into their shell. The Pearl you see is actually the oysters encasing the irritant in a special substance, that hardens over time to protect its flesh from the irritant. Thatās why you sometimes see Pearl fish, because fish find their into the oyster and the oyster encases the fish.
Anyways, basically itās a trauma response. Jooha produced pearls because of metaphorical irritants (rapists, traffickers, emotional pain, etc) but now heās like ig mentally healthier (I canāt tell theyāve been fucking every chapter but I think heās better than before now) heās not producing pearls bc thereās no more irritants
