Ok so what I’m interpreting is that Chaon is so fucked up by guilt of almost accidentally causing Sehan’s death that he’s super susceptible to manipulation from Sehan(who is already rly good at manipulating people?)
Chaon already experienced panic attacks/anxiety attacks related to his guilt & of almost losing Sehan, and Sehan takes advantage of that. Sehan doesn’t want Chaon to become independent so he has sabotaged Chaon’s every job, forcing Chaon to be financially reliant on Sehan (which worsens Chaon’s.guilt and anxiety, possibly contributing to his doormat attitude.)
Chaon is obviously not a doormat for everyone, he seems to have little to none emotional permanence around Sehan (hating Sehan bc he was raped, but immediately forgiving him after a bit of time/pressure.)
Chaon has lived with & around people who don’t respect his consent & boundaries, (his fling, Sehan etc,) so probably doesn’t respect himself a lot.
Most likely, Chaon’s dissociating to some degree because he feels guilty for Sehan and doesn’t think he should/deserves to hate Sehan, he puts up w a LOT because he’s used to his boundaries being ignored, he lacks self-respect, feels a lot of guilt, vulnerable and is anxious.

He’s a cheater but I do sympathize with what he went though. And the professor guy he slept with, looks like his father that SA’ed him.
To be clear, I hope you aren’t justifying Suyeon’s cheating. But I agree 100% about defending him from full on haters, especially after seeing that sad traumatic back story. I made a lengthy post with my thoughts on this. I don’t hate Suyeon, but I cannot like him either as a partner. As a human being, I’ll welcome him.

Um yeah telling someone to die is too far. Calling him a slut? I would’ve thought he was one too if I didn’t see the backstory, but I wouldn’t shame him for being one either. The only thing I detest is cheating part, but once I saw back story, I do sympathize even if I don’t like what he did. I think he saw his father in the other professor, they look too similar for that to not be true.
They did break up. ML officially ended it, and Suyeon cried, begging him to not leave. And from beginning chapter, we see the ML in therapy. I wonder what led to that, I mean I know what led to that lol, but how and when in the future.
The other professor is horrible. The heated hate about cheating is valid, but not having a bit of empathy or sympathy after seeing the backstory and even before that, is awful.
And I won’t lie, I was so shocked when the cheating part came. He did it so casually too but then stopped and that’s when the other prof continued despite losing consent. It didn’t seem like MC had remorse of cheating, actually maybe he did (based off what I saw, he thought of ML and that’s when he said to stop.)
I guess the trauma of being SA’ed by father made him want more of it, a self destructive behavior. Truly sad.

Update: I honestly don’t want him to but it seems like he has to. Based on what I’ve skimmed through so far. It’s as if his story with Jin has to come to a conclusion and living it’s not an option.
