She can just smile without blushing it's kind of hard to explain but the author wants us to imagine a bond between tgem which they can't have at this point of the story? Like she does not know him and with her past experience i expected their meetings to be deeper, not your typical girl meets boy meetings
aria never felt loved genuinely in her previous life, all of the guys who chased her were only after her beauty or to sleep with her, so her reaction is actually realistic because someone shows authentic appreciation for something other than her beauty.
