Gyoukyou used to be one of my fav characters in the series but reading some of the novel spoilers left a bad taste in my mouth :/ fuck her and her whole family + her son.

I haven't read the novels so take this with a grain of salt.
Apparently Gyoukyou gives birth to a boy, the heir to the throne. But Jinshi has support from his mother's family and they want HIM to become emperor. Because of that Gyoukyou, now becomes empress, starts getting jinshi and maomao in trouble (not sure what she does) she's also uneasy about maomao being Lakan's daughter and her having support from many powerful people
I really hate to say this but… me too — I thought I was the only one thinking this and I will get hated if I ask.
I like her teasing with Jinshi and Maomao, I like her in general. But from the beginning, even when I only watch the anime and read the manga, there’s something about her that I can’t explain. I can’t like her entirely.
THEN Ah Duo came and yea, she became my favorite consort and then Lihua.
Also, I only read the novel up until the beginning of Vol. 5 so some comments are a spoiler but reading it ‘justified’ my feelings in some ways. Idk. Just saying, this may or may not change over time.
