Polygamy is no way normal for muslims lmao. It's allowed but on the conditions:
•First wife has to agree with the husband getting married to another woman
•Husband hast to support all his wife equally on financial and emotional basis
•Can't prefer them one over the other
•Can't have more than 4 wives
Fun fact: Islam put a restriction of how many wives a man can have with certain conditions. This rule was basically so that there won't be any physical relationship outside of marriage. Also during the old times men used to die during wars. So to protect the widowed woman this system was established so that a man can support several women and to protect them from being sex slave and stuff. Men and Women freely mixing with each other might establish physical attraction outside marriage that's why married was a ideal way to support them.

in malaysia polygamy is so normalised tho it's very common to see men having multiple wives. many are accepting bcs it's in our culture, basically but it's still a sensitive topic for some people.
