I think BL fans (and authors too) have a problem with accept stories like this because we (yes I include myself) are used to: no matter how twisted and disgusting a story can be, it will turn "romantic" and the top will have its redemption arc and not all of them have to be like that. For me, at least. Some will just be twisted, cruel, hard to read and that's OK.
Fiction can be about anything and I think there are no limits for fiction but there are for you, as a human and as a consumer.
Learn to choose what appeals to you and what doesn't and to consume it critically and then also judge it as a product.
This manhwa won't left me anything of value and that's fine...

I think this manhwa (maybe unintentionally) showcase how a victim will endlessly go back to the abuse, maybe he doesn't want to escape and yet he does but he doesn't do anything to escape.
Haewon clearly loves Haeyoung even if Haeyoung it's a rapist piece of shit and he knows it, he loves him, period and since the only thing Haeyoung ever show him was attention through abuse, he accepts it even when he knows it's wrong and that's a common thing for victims to find "comfort" in the abuse when it's the only thing they ever known.
Haewon won't ever escape this.
And btw I'm not blaming him, the only culprit here is Haeyoung and whoever abuse the poor Haewon, it's just that I see people blame him and Haewon it's still a victim and while it is irritating and someone who never went through abuse would never understand it, it's very well represented.
Well as much as I do think Haewon is dumb for falling for Seo Hayoung again and again. The manga is doing a good job showing how abusive relationships work, you would believe everything your abuser said also we need to remember Seo Hayoung helped Haewon -financially- that, alone, gives the abuser so much power over their victim.
Haewon knows he is dumb, he knows he should leave, he should get away but at the same time, Seo Hayoung its the only he loves, the one who helped him, he doesn't see him as an abuser when he wants to be with him, he just wants to be with him and dissociates from reality.
Haewon doesn't want to leave him EVEN if wants to leave him because he doesn't know a life without Seo Hayoung and even thinking about it, for a victim, a life without the abuse its scary because it means to face a reality that sometimes may be worse than the abuse itself.

This was never the best thing I've ever read, no, but it was ok, it was interesting enough for me to keep reading and enjoying it and read the novel but when they revealed he was never a substitute....oh my God
Why? I mean I read Sissy, I read Black Lotus, ML were complete asshole AND they still ended up together so why do that...plot twist? I don't even know how to call it because it doesn't even feel like a plot twist.
It just bad writing and the author trying to gaslight the readers as if we haven't read the story, trying to make it look like the readers, misunderstood the ML, when you purposely write him to he like that.
And in story doesn't make sense either because its trying to make it seem like its the MC's fault when he had every right to feel mistreated and bretrayed and of course, to leave the ML, now it seems he leave him for nothing. Was MC supposed to read his mind or what?
The only positive aspect is that the MC has some development and he does not bend easily, he work hard for not only his mental health but his carreer and he deserves his fame and success. Fuck the other guy

i don't understand these types of stories, no one likes infidelity unless they deserve it of course, this is still fiction then again, why make something like this? im not rooting for the alpha and omega at all, they don't even have chemistry and also the alpha is such a cringe character, not even funny doesn't matter how hard they try, he is not likeable and so is the omega.
I discover this manga because of TIKTOK, yes, and its a weird feeling when you realized its 20 years old but (leaving some things aside) it aged very well and its a great read.
Sure, its heavy and made uncomfortable many times but that's what I want from a story. To make me feel.
I love Jeremy and I think the ending was the best for him, he'll live with the trauma but that does not define him anymore. I would love to read about his healing but its a happy ending for me.
I also love how the author developed the relationship with Ian.
Ian, its a weird case. He did gave Jeremy a hard time and probably give him more trauma but he is not a professional, he was also struggling with everything, so yeah he did what he could. He's neither good or bad, just like real life, he could've done a lot of things differently? Sure, but he was also a teenager whose life do a 360° from day to night. He is not Jeremy's savior and I'm glad the author made that clear but he try to be there for Jeremy and I think Jeremy did know that too and he thanks Ian for it. I wouldn't go as far as saying they love each other but they do -find- each other. I think that's the word and I like how they are able to sit beside each other and chill and be comfortable. I like that.
For the other characters... William, Valentine and Queen Marjorie are the best. Marjorie, at first I was like "oh great another unstable teenager "and yes lol but she is also a great friend and a caring person, who tries to live her life her way and in the best way she can and I think its the few who love and accept Jeremy as he is. I like that they ended up as friends.
Nadia....I hate her. She was great and I like her with Ian but when they break up after the cheating, she tried to be some sort of villain and it was so cringy to me and yeah its sucks to be cheated on but girl, she was not like that and have no reason to chase Ian like she did, considering she already had a bad experience. Also she made everything about herself at some point that was so ? When Jeremy told her his story, her reaction was so disappointing and it that moment I was like ooooh this bitch and after that the whole "give Ian back to me" like Ian told you, he does not want you, Jeremy has nothing to do with it. Ugh. She was a disappointing character.
I hate Sandra too. Yes, she was unstable and did not meant to cause some trauma onto her son but that's the key word "some" because I believe she knew and choose not to say anything. She only care about herself and how she reacted to the secretary is my proof. She love the piece of shit pedofile and being love by him more than she loved Jeremy and everyone babied her was so cringy, not, she needed professional help. Jeremy needed to be from her too.
Overall 5 stars, 10/10. I highly recommend it.
I'll be honest with y'all complete strangers. I do like when the shitty top ends up with the mc, doesn't matter how awful he can get but I also appreciate some development and here we have none, no for the MC or the prince and that I don't like, sure, make them end up together if you want but also show me something else otherwise is poor storytelling.
I want next chapter to have some sort of development for Jaekyung and don't get me wrong, I don't like the whole being honest while drunk trope but if that can get me some sort of development well but I doubt it I highly doubt it, he will be an asshole to Dan again TIRED.
I want to believe but don't get my hopes up.
Also its someone can tell me what the fuck Dan saw in him (╯°Д °)╯╧╧ from one day to the other he was in love.
