Evil Museum
Eh. It had a great premise, but didn't deliver on it. I'm a huge fan of episodic shopkeeper stories, but this isn't one that I like. I think it's important to have the medium of the story stand out, such as the setting and the characters (or in this case, shopkeepers). Think xxxHolic and Petshop of Horrors, the owner of the stores is enigmatic and full of secrets, luring unsuspecting customers to their potential dooms. Here, we learn nothing about the owner or the part-time worker, or even the items in the museum. The author chose to tell the stories in a weird "let's exchange random stories to each other" format, which isn't bad in itself, but it's done so poorly. The chapters are disjointed and sometimes you can't tell if you're in the middle of the story or if you're in the museum before they start another story. Some of the stories were creepy, but they all feel so flat. The art was great in the prologue, but severely declined in quality with each chapter.
My Red String of Fate
Very average webtoon. The premise is interesting, but the plot quickly falls flat. Art slowly gets better as artist gets more comfortable with panel layouts, but it's not the best art I've seen. The female lead is dense as a brick and the male lead is unappealing. They fast forward to romance levels very quickly and it's boring. I'm tired of webtoon authors not properly developing emotions for their characters, life is not a highway, you can't just jump to the "good part". People don't fall in love so easily in real life. Honestly, I'm still bothered by the concept that red threads mean death, because in my culture, red threads are auspicious and mean fated love. It's sort of melding Asian culture with Western culture (the threads of death from ancient Greece), and I don't like it, personally. Pick one thing or the other, don't do both.
The Library Needs A Witch
Pretty mediocre webtoon. The art is really average, and I detest the art for the female lead. Why are her eyelashes as long as her eyes are wide?? So gross! I don't like anything about her, from her looks, to her name, to her personality. It makes me wonder who the author is trying to make the readers root for. The prince is supposed to be a scheming pervert but he just seems like a stupid guy. The male love interest is as interesting as a piece of blank paper. There's no real story or plot or conflict yet. If the female lead is so powerful, why can't she fix the library by herself? Very poor writing, color me not impressed.
Eternal Emperor
Nonsensical isekai cultivation webtoon. I don't care for any of the characters. Nothing makes sense and I don't know what the male lead is trying to accomplish. Art is pretty average.
Otherworldly Evil Monarch
The art is decent, but it's difficult to understand what is happening in action sequences. It's a typical isekai with male lead focusing on cultivation. A lot of things are unexplained and sometimes the translation is not the best, so it's hard to follow the story. The male lead is not likeable and has no good standout qualities. Very average webtoon so far. Translation gets even worse after Chapter 50+. It's completely incomprehensible now.
