Reading the past arc and immediately re reading the present current timeline arc is a mouthwash ritual to keep me sane. When u compare the both you see how idos present actions made so much sense. Him abstaining from touching sejin and only limiting to helping him for heats, him always showing up whenever sejin is in heat n all the elements that he worked to eliminate from sejins life which brought about their relationship to a terrible end. It was only after being biting n joining together in past life that ido could fully grasp sejins feelings n inner turmoil. How wlse was he suppose to. Sejin' abusive upbringing made him a severe peoples pleaser n tbh even tho he was guilt ridden n heavily depressed/unwilling abt stealing data sejin said himself he would do it again for his father had he gone back in time. Theres no undoing it. To him all his life he strived for his family's approval and acceptance and even after he was jailed and framed by his father, sejin chose his father iver ido(how ido interpreted that) even thoigh ido suffered financial damages because of the fraud sejin did, he felt betrayed and hurt ONLY because he felt sejin chose haeshin ceo instd of him. He loved sejin and kept giving him chances to come clean and speak up or clear hjs name but sejin kept taking the blame which to ido felt like no matter what happened sejin only ever has eyes for his family [kinda true but ido never saw how sejin felt inside how miserable he was it was killing him little by little daily] i say the readers read novel. Its very detailed and goes into great monologue lengths on sejins emotions
So glad they skipped out on making this as graphic as it was in novel. I wanted to puke. The grape was described in more detail for an entire chapter length and sejin put up resistance really. He fought hard for most of it until he heard the words gift n went limp. A really fucking terrible misunderstanding. No wonder ido took this grpaist out at the earliest. He really couldn't wait to kill him anytime sooner
