Absolutely amazing I love this story, it conveys the reality of being a queer person so well, the part I loved was that 'even in my queer community I feel left out' something like that, that was an amazing quote and I could relate so well, there's many aspects that makes me as a queer person feel seen.
You could tell easily that this isn't sexualised like of course many BLS, yaoi, or shounen Ai - majority always stereotypes them, but this one just makes queer people actual humans, and goodness you can tell this author is either queer or has a lot of experience with a queer person, quotes from here 'here I am chasing for a straight boy' I absolutely love this line, there is always, always something in the other stories that's like 'why am I doing this?' etc. Which basic anyways, this one though shows a gay person who already knows that they are gay, and are comfortable with it.
There's lines like this but, this one is so realistic, it shows how he is desperately going after someone, even though he knows that he won't like him back and knowing what pain that is - for the reason he is straight 'straight boy' this part here makes it a much higher level of realism, this is something queer people would say, not something a heterosexual person would think a gay person to say. Trust me there is a BIG difference, and this author knows it.

Okay so I'm up to 7 volume so my review so far it's good as a woman who obviously writes yaoi mangas remember I said bl not mlm so no it isn't realistic or sweet it can be look because there is a difference to a woman sexualising and writing yaoi and an author writing about 2 men who are in love with each other and not to mention the sa and like the sex is just sex and bro this is not fully consented sex so yes again sa so yeah as an old manga it can be good but like there are much better mangas nowadays which are created by women cause most women in Japan just write bl they don't support the gay stuff

Souichi, the long haired guy is not an agressive character, his "homophobia" was originally an excuse to break his young brother's relationship because he extremely protective of his family, even more because of the death of their mother; not to mention, but on the start of this story that is not shown in this mang, but in Challengers by the same author, Souichi's university teacher tries to assault him and Morinaga is able to help him defend himself, both turn out ok but Souichi acquires a rather complicated trauma against gay people.
The initial story was written even before 2000, so characters that are uneducated about LGBT were a lot more common; Souichi, also, does accept and respect Morinaga, they already have a weird relationship before, it is messy, and this manga is about how they untangle this (▰˘◡˘▰)
