So the Church and the current King are the baddies in this one, they have a Saint who is able to brainwash people and has been indoctrinated to do so (in the end Lippe comforts her as she was groomed into being a weapon), Lippe's ability is to 'purify' things with her singing.
I think it was the King who order the murder of her family, but the Church were the ones who were behind it, the King is just a really greedy bastard
