Is Meili totally expressionless and/or simpleminded or is it just the way his lips are drawn perpetually stuck that makes it seem that way ?
It makes it really hard for me to like his character. I'm curious about the story but it's quite a turn off.

That is exactly my beef with this manhwa. The uke comes off ditzy and overly sexed even though he's innocent. Not all people that live in an island are simple or country bumpkin that look and act like tart twit. ( ̄へ ̄)its insulting...King hottieTian at least isn't degrading or humiliating him for that...I wonder if younger brother Chen will add fire to the story. Would actually like to see him get with the hot secretary...

The manga in no way makes people who are from islands look simple, like literally the other characters from the island act nothing like him, also is was said in the story that he only has a high school level education because he couldn't go to the city for extra schooling. Also the uke dresses like anyone from a hot area would dress, thin fabrics and less clothing, even when moving to a new place he could still wear whatever he's used to wearing.

Ryan and Cecilia are so ambiguous. They both follow their own agenda without caring much for the people it may hurt. Christophe's and the other girl servant's relation with their master intrigue me a lot and contribute to make me feel really wary of them both. I can't seem to decide if they are good, bad, or if they see so far that their actions may be really justified.
I love it ! <3

I get people are excited and likes to look at raws, but can you not spoil chapters not yet published on this website witout warnings ?
It's so infuriating for people like me who loathes spoilers. You are taking away most of my enjoyment about reading this manga. I will now have to stop looking at comments every time new chapters are published to avoid them and it sadens me a lot since I really like sharing my thoughts with you guys after reading !
I'm so pissed off about spoilers right now !!! (╯°Д °)╯╧╧

I'm not sure I understood everything. Why is Shin still in the children's quarters ? Wasn't he supposed to be banished for "cheating" on the King ? What was his punishement exactly ? Was it just to be paraded naked in front of the crowd ? It seem too magnanimous for that monstruous King. And how long was the time jump ? Isn't Shin too old for the King, now ? (Yuck...)
Why am I the only one so confused ? (⊙…⊙ )
(Sorry...)

They'd be 18 at the oldest now, but that depends on when their birthdays are. If Shin was too young for the King to bed him, he had to have been 14 at oldest.
Then in the new chapter, 4th Prince mentions to Sys that talk he had with 3rd Prince three years ago.
I have no idea about Shin's banishment though.

He slaughtered men, women, the elderly, and children back at the hospital during Sys' childhood because they stood up for Sys' parents who treated the Miller's son who attempted suicide with a snake bite to escape the King. My guess is his 15th birthday was approaching. The miller's son essentially doomed them all to death to save himself from the King's wrath, only to accepted his fate in the chamber of bloom.
From what I gather, Shin is not in the children's quarters anymore, he is banished from the palace, but somewhere nearby and probably under watch. The King has not come to see him since his punishment a few years ago, but he and Sys are always prepared. Shin was also the King's favorite - so while he couldn't stand the idea of Shin being tainted by someone else, I don't think he could kill him after the death of the first black haired boy. Plus he's also the son of a minister, so I think that killing Shin would have been too dangerous a move for him politically.
Sys' parents, the poor, the elderly, and children of lesser standing are all free game for the King though. Thanks to his corrupt ministers, there's no repercussion for enslaving, starving, and killing the powerless. The ministers can afford to send their children away their children until they reach adulthood. So long as the King's actions don't threaten them, they don't care about the kingdom.

Now that makes sense. Thanks! And I just want to say that that kid in the hospital? *breathes* HE'S A JERK!! GOD! I WISH SYS DIDNT CURE HIM! HE SHOULD HAVE DIED FROM THE POISON INSTEAD!! THE POOR VILLAGERS DIDNT DESERVE THAT KIND OF DEATH! AND JUST BECAUSE OF HIS LIES!!!!???
JUSTICE FOR SYS' PARENTS! (☄◣д◢)☄

Maybe you're right but it still dosen't makes total sense to me. The first panel of chapter 26 show the same building as the chapter 29 where it's cleary described as the children's quarter. And, to me, the king doesn't seem to care or be worried about any other ranks or political figures (If the ministers and nobles needs to send their kids away until 15 to protect them...). Maybe he did spare Shin because he was his favorite, but it's not very well conveyed in this case. (and he seemed more like the kind of guy to make him suffer extra for the very personal betrayal... emotional jerk !)
But maybe I'm getting ahead of myself here and it will all be explained later ! I think the time jump being immediatly cut by Sys flashback kinda threw me off... ;)

I agree it doesn't make sense - why would someone he banished still be in the children's quarters? The whole thing isn't very well explained or resolved, we're given no explanation.
If you're right, that's why our...

Lovebirds meet up next chapter! So maybe that's why they couldn't speak and had to use Sys to exchange messages? He couldn't leave the children's quarters, despite his banishment that isn't a banishment? But now that Sys showed him the secret way in they can meet up? I dunno. Shin's current situation makes no sense from a writing standpoint without clarification. I really hope they explain why things are the way they are.

That was a bit too rapey for me... I'll wait for more chapters before making an opinion.

Some of them can make it work until you even forget the rape. Some just leave a bad taste in your mouth and ruins the rest of the story. I can ignore some rape, but I will never fault someone else for dropping a story because of it. Although it gets annoying when they complain about it chapters later, cause then it's like "Why are you still here?"

Yeah, sometimes it works with the story and sometimes it's just badly written. Or maybe I was just in a mood... That's why I reserve my opinion on this one. If it's in a story that I like I can just brush it off, but when it's in the first chapter it can be tricky. We'll see...
(And I personally think it's a good thing that my brain does not automatically normalize rape just because it's a yaoi. I know the genre well, I like it, I know what to expect ! And yet I like to still be in touch with my reality ;) )
I really like how they didn't make Katrina the usual cliche of the jealous and plotting bitch. Also, I'm very intrigued by the mother. She doesn't seem evil and it looks like there are still a lot of parameters to her actions that we don't know of.
She threw fox into the pond in freezing cold winter when he was a little kid? That's fucking mean if you ask me
Sure, I never said she was a nice little lady. It just seems like there are good reasons making her act like that with the fox and I like the fact that she is not the typical vilain who is bad just to be bad. I can be wrong and she may still be a total unapologetic bitch, but I'm intrigued...
You think she's not evil, but like doesn't that seem unnecessarily cruel to you? I just can't stand her, whatever reasons she might have
Of course I find it cruel too. It's the "unnecessarily" that I'm questioning. I'm just wondering if she doesn't have good reasons to act like she does. I don't like her either but we see in the last chapters that there is probably more to it than hatred or "evilness". I'm just glad to see that she is more fleshed out than the usual basic bitch. I like my villains with depth !
(And by that I don't say that I want them to be excusable, just that I like them to have reasons to act like they do.)
