No its not sad. Its about a gay boy who tries to seem strong and say he do not care, what others say about him, but deep down he is easily hurt and is insecure about his gender. The other boy is quiet tall and straight, until he falls for the mc. Its a cute story, and it lets us see the inner struggle of someone who is gay and likes a straight person, but at the same time do not want to ruin this other persons life, like he did for himself. And that straight persons struggle to get the gay mc to understand him and accept his feelings.
(=・ω・=) Also sidecouples are also cute, even if at the beggining some of them are annoying.
