also, i love how open minded and kind all the characters are. all the guys that live in the dorms, saku's family, liz. there's really no external drama of some aggressively pushy character(s). i also love how ryota really is formally engaged to saku and they are a couple to the T.
i just love this storyline. i love that everyone who gets to know ryota loves him for his genuine personality. saku is great but i'm glad for once it's not a story of some heir that has everyone drooling on him left and right because he's rich and handsome. that storyline is so cliche and is overdone in both yaoi and in romance dramas. (not that... i don't... sometimes enjoy it anyway....). i love how this author explores a real life story for her characters, and her ability to infuse a good balance of comedy in her works where it doesn't overpower a clearly present story line but adds to a good time feel for it.
ps. it's been one chapter with the new guy and i already want to know where his new boyfriend will be at.

there is so much going on this author is a wonderful story teller, the conversations are so real, sometimes i forget to appreciate since there are a lot of comedic moments. kashima is the ultimate gentlemen i can't even remember the last time i read a seme this sincere and sweet. how could anyone not fall when getting a confession like that?? it's so romantic how he loops his arms around toono and pulls him in gently. it's not like most yaoi where the seme just makes the moves and jumps the uke into bed and the uke falls with his body, he is sincerely putting himself out there as someone who has fallen for someone. a lot of yaoi is unrealistic but i could clearly see this confession in real life, toono is so dear to kashima. (albeit, it's hard to meet such good guys like this but they're out there! just all taken haha)
i also respect how the author portrays her art so well you can really feel the distinct personalities of all the characters, regardless of how many she's put in the series. that's why i can't stand akemi senpai, he's had a fake smile plastered on his face his chapter one. we're approaching his backstory but i'm on the fence as it seems like the cliche school story where he fell in love with a senpai who went out with/is going out with someone else. there's nothing wrong with it i've just read way too many school story yaois with this plot and akemi isn't likable enough.. that's my only gripe with the story, everything else has been great - how ingenious is sensei for characters like yuri kun. a pet vibrator i can't even deal that is a first in yaoi.
