I mean, I like the development going on by all means - but I still can't help but dislike Helena, especially knowing she goes around acting oblivious just because she was told to do so. I suppose there's nothing she can do in hindsight, it's really pitiful really.
If I'm being honest, even though Melissa seems really bitchy, I get where she's coming from. The Melissa we know literally reincarnated into a world in a world where she was essentially "alone," alongside that, the world she is in is ruled by the laws of the novel which is the new convention - common tropes like men thinking women are weak and need protecting have already been explored in the story through the MLs and Yuri. Melissa becomes even more defensive when being thought of as weak because she's in a position where she's worked hard to be able to protect herself and the people that are by her.
Furthermore, she's built all of these connections like Nine and Yona, but there's still so much she doesn't know about them to an extent. And tbh if I were Melissa, I'd unconsciously create a mental barrier between the 'characters' and me because of the whole novel aspect of the whole scenario. But idk, I'm just ranting here without thinking much. But Melissa friendzoning Nine was painful to watch lmao

THE PLOTLINE SUMMARISED-ish....: Alicia is tasked to become Liz Cather's (the Saintess) monitor - as we come to find out, she is this 'epitome of good' virtuous character. This means that Liz is very naive and optimistic although academically smart. Alicia, on the other hand, embraces this villainous role she's assigned and takes a more realistic stance (in an immoral fashion no less) and is VERY intelligent. For this reason, she's placed as a monitor by the King and the other ruling powers as they can't have the Saintess bring ruin to the Empire through her idealistic approaches. An example that can be seen is through the fact Liz wanted to use the Empire's money to fund another neighbouring Empire whose economy was in ruins because 'it's good to help people', despite the Empire having its own issue of the impoverished village that had people dying and on the brink of rebellion due to horrid conditions.
Alicia brings up her notoriety as a villainess by criticising Liz the loved Saintess constantly (this is to teach Liz the realities of the world she lives in - and that her idealistic approaches aren't always the best solution), which causes her to be hated by everyone - including her own brothers (apart from Henry + Duke the Prince, and Gilles - the boy she saves from the impoverished village). Even when Alicia and Gillies are kidnapped and almost killed due to Liz and her followers - Alicia's brothers attack her for killing the kidnappers brutally due to Liz's 'violence and murder is wrong' 'life is holy' philosophy.
***IN REGARDS TO THE SPOILERS ABOUT ALICIA LOSING HER POWERS + EVERYONE FALLING FOR THE SAINTESS***: To preface this, Alicia with the help of Grandpa Will and another character called Rebecca transform the impoverished village into a place worth living in. It's true that Alicia loses her magic, but that is only momentary because she actually ends up giving up one of her eyes to Grandpa Will (the old man in the impoverished village) because he's helped her so much. + Because magic and perception are somewhat linked, it takes a few weeks for Alicia to get her magic back - but she 100% does get her magic back.
Alongside that, not everyone falls for the Saintess Liz Cather. As briefly explored, Henry and Gilles don't fall for her optimistic and idealistic ways. The main character though, the Prince - Duke who was supposed to originally fall for Liz, ends up falling HARD for Alicia instead.
I didn’t actually dive too far down to see the spoiler comment, but thank you so much for explaining everything! I actually like how things will go. It just shows that she did end up becoming a villain like she wanted, but she’s still going strong. If this manga continues on this site, I’ll def be looking forward to it!

Do the brothers just stay that way?
As of right now, the brothers apart from Henry are like that in the novel - I think Henry did mention at one point to Alicia that it's almost as if they were brainwashed. I honestly have no point about where the direction of the novel is going but I hope that the brothers break out their idealistic way of thinking
