This is based on my introspection. It contains major spoiler. You've been warned.
I have read up to chapter 450 of the MTLed novel version for this manhua (hasn't been updated). As for the dreaded female lead in action manhuas, the author is leaning towards Gong Juha, the red-head flame user.
The reason as to why I'm saying this is:
1. A quest from Floor 2 upon completion gives an item called 'Tears of the Sun'. What it does is it allows the player to wield the flame attribute. Jun Ho gave it to the girl because he thought he had too much on his plate with Frost and Watchguard of Darkness. Kinds wished he used it on himself.
2. Jun Ho gave her a voucher to a high-end restauran.
3. There was a chapter where Jun Ho thought if walking on this long and arduos path was really worth it. He asked himself whether he'd have a lover and his own family. He briefly thought of the princess during the monologue.
4. In Floor 4, Jun Ho regressed for 17 years. At this point in the story, all his comrades:
Skaya, the Great Wizard
Gilbert, the Sniper
Ramadat, the King of Destruction
Mio, the Assassin
have all woken up. They offered to help him but he declined. When the princess offers her help, he accepts.
Again, I would reiterate that this is only MY introspection and my source is an MTLed novel so it is in no way accurate. However, this bits and pieces of information managed to convince me that she's the female lead which is very tasteless. I'd rather have the secretary, Cha Si Eun as the female lead.
Do not be discouraged though as the novel is really good. Just look over the minor romance mixed within. Hehe. That's the end of my Ted Talk.
Watchguard of Darkness is so overpowered, by the way.
I wonder why I find it okay for them to be close, but hate if the sister does.
