Well, even though it's only in title, she's still the Duchess right? Aside from Cassius' close aid, no one calls her as such. If I have to point out another flaw in the FL's character, she also doesn't exude the dignity a duchess should have. At the very least, she could at least use her authority once in a while. The fact that she was talked down by a servant of Ain(in the first few chapters) speaks volume of just how much a (-lowkey-) pushover she is. It's just my opinion though so take it with a grain of salt.

as to how she thinks someone who would inherit a dukedom would have a normal childhood. Isn't it a common knowledge among aristocrats not to show affection in public and always adhere to the heirarchy? yes. it is a it like the rules of a sophsticated animal kingdom....if the ruler showes weakness and in general a weak appearance, no one will take him seriously. they will have no feeling of authority....sure they know it, but having it as a reminder infont of them...someone impenetrable, is what a person like that has to do. some roles include that you fit yourself in some kind of mold....how you are behind the eyes of the public in your safe zones with people you know you can absolutely trust, is something else. but a monarch has a huge burdensome responsibility. if he is weak and after romance like this, then people will think lightly of him and thus of the empire and easily become corrupted by greed and other nations will hear from this and may think of war or stuff....so this behaviour is only explalinable by it being a fictionous story. in no way is it realistic or logical though.....we have real royals in positions, even if they do not hold absolute power anymore like in the past, but they still know the weight of the title they chose to wear...like the queen of the united kingdom....her behaviour and appearance since ever she ascended the throne was the reason why that place was so "confident" and why no one takes that place lightly....look at america in comparison....because of trump everyone thinks of america as a joke now....like a person who has power but no sense of responsibility and willy nilly flaunts it around destroying everyhthing and itself as well....no one is perfect, but if you chose a role, you ought to play it well and with full responsibility and if you make mistakes correct them..especially if ou are the "face" and "voice" of a nation....
