Maybe the artist wants to make shit up to drag this story out for clicks but I really don't understand why. The stories losing direction and the pacing is fucked because people who have no business writing just be adding shit. I originally picked this up because I was in love with the authors other novel HSPLA and since this was set in the same universe plus the unfortunate fact that I couldn't find a completed version of the novel for this. I was especially excited when I heard that this was going to have more politics in the plot. But I can't enjoy this if stuff that isn't supposed to be in the story just gets shoved in! I'm so freaking annoyed, I could throw something! There's nothing worse than good work being ruined by an artist or the company!!!

How the Sidekick Prince Lives Again it takes place in the same universe and the main couple is Renato and Khalid it's fully translated into English you can just look it up on novel updates. It also has a manhwa but it's not completed. The closest we get to seeing Rishar and Etienne in that novel is just a mention that in another kingdom an omega was able to take the throne. It also

Have you read the novel for this? I saw a lot of comments from novel readers that this manhwa adaptation has tons of fillers and they drag the story so hard. I havent read the recent chapters and I was shocked why some people are pissed at Rishar now (like I really like him a lot even though he’s sometimes acting really careless) and I wonder if novel Rishar is the same with manhwa Rishar?

I just picked the novel so I can’t say I’m far enough in to correctly elaborate. But I can say that Rishar isn’t the type to disagree with Etti especially in front of others he starts and remains a staunch supporter of Ettienne and omega rights from start to finish. Although tbf Ettiene also seems to be a lot more politically savvy so there’s no reason for anyone to call him reckless. What I can confirm though is that the manhwa is being dragged a lot of stuff is being left out and added in randomly even from the 50 chapters I read I can already tell that much. I definitely recommend it though the translation is very good!

Why are we all hating on Horus? “He’s becoming like his father!” For all we know breaking the mirror could’ve freed her. The enemy is Osiris, didn’t we all get an explanation from Namjoon’s Left Buttcheek in the last update. Seth already loves Horus but because “Osiris rooted insecurities and doubt deeply into Seth.” He’s trying to play it safe by going back to what he knows aka Nephthys (yes he still cares for her but that ain’t the point). Besides from the raws

It looks like he goes back to her only to get rejected anyway soooooo ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Both seth n horus regretted their actions the second they did it. U will see Seth's anguish n mental breakdown next ch and hes deeply traumatized by this. Also Remember maat put a spell on seth where the slightest bit of offense/aggression against someone would instantly end his probation period. When seth dug horus eyes out, horus didnt budge, move or block. He purposly clung to seth so that the attack by seth would appear as welcomed by him or won't be counted as aggression. He basically saved seth from having his soul destroyed or being shipped to ra's boat. Thats how genuine n purely he loves seth.
N its heartbreaking to see readers mischaracterise both of them like this. Like why cant we acknowledge their shortcomings instd of hating them lol.
Yes she rejects him because now her soul is whole(horus freed her by breaking mirror) her headgear which was cracked n later removed is back again which u know means peace has been restored aka she's back as whole and as goddess of peace now she has memories of all that seth did. She rejects him cuz as goddess of peace she cant lie beside a man who's a genocide criminal, uncountable heinous crimes against innocent souls aka women n children mostly n all the tortures he did on anubis. Seth's crimes are tbh so severe that he dismantled egypts gender ratio balance (very few women compared to men) n apart from bloodshed he's the one who drove anubis to suicide and abused him during his madness era. Did he do all this willingly? Ofc no but is he still guilty of all his charges ? Unfortunately yes n as someone incharge of bringing peace n restore harmony neph obv chose not to get back. Also she says now u alrdy have someone u.love (horus) n asks seth do u really love me? Seth cant answer honestly LOL hes having horus flashbacks. And neph says ill support n love u like a sibling but we can't ignore all thag u did or go back to how things were. This confrontation was much needed anyway they never got to part properly or clear the quagmire of misunderstandings,

We readers already do know since chapter 193 that she's not inside the mirror anymore, though (which is why we should only get half mad,not full mad): there is a flashback where Horus went back and saw she was no longer there. Horus broke the mirror while knowing she's not there anymore. Not a full justification, but some.

Omg horus , he is so so everything — he is everything, he aaaaaaa that's why he was clinging onto seth when seth was literally fucking plugging his eye out fuckk people do see this aaaaaaa I'm so sorry this is so sad for some reason, he loves him so much so much waow , how could they hate him!? I don't get it! How fuck are some people hating on him !?

People pointed out that horus was like osiris for using his wind to pin seth before breaking the mirror but the thing is Seth's binding spell instantly acted up when seth wanted to stop horus and horus immediately then pins seth so that he wouldnt be able to attack him n break maats seal. Even in the midst of his crash out he's watching out for seth and he literally surrendered himself up for Seth's attack otherwise Seth's soul wouldve been obliterated if not shipped to ra's eternal boat
( >Д<;) PPL STILL COMPARING HIM TO OSIRIS DESPITE ALL THIS

YES LIKE HORUS— A FUCKING ANGEL LIKE GOD'S GIFT TO HUMANITY AND THESE PEOPLE ARE COMPARING HIM — TO THAT BITCH! THAT FUCKING LAURA KELA AUGGGHHH WHEN IS HE GONNA DIE!!!!!!????? FUCKING WHENNNN!!?????AAAAAAUGGGGHHHH DIE!!DIE!!!DIE!!!DIE!!DIE!!!!!!UUUUGGGGGAAAAAHHHHHHH
sorry i just don't like that green bitch my blood boils up

Aaaaaaahhh I woke up to a million replies! First of all thank you for explaining the mirror thing because honestly I forgot everything about it besides that it trapped Nephthys. And I’m glad we all love Horus here he really is just the sweetest guy who always does everything he can for Seth.
And Namjoon I was literally stalking the replies in the last update for everything you replied to because I just love your insight! I don’t understand much Ennead besides Seth = BBG and Osiris = Shithead, I miss a lot of subtext and even if I still don’t get it all you really cleared up a lot for me!

Omg im so glad i was helpful to you. It makes my time typing paragraphs worth it seriously ILY THANKS!!!!!!! U dont have to stalk the replies just @ mention me and ill be there to clear whatever doubt u have regarding anything or everything. Be it spoilers, to explain lore , action analysis, tinfoil theories etc etc just lemme know ill try my best (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ this really made my day aaa! Hope u have a wonderful day too

Now I know I might get some pushback but please reply because I really want to get some other opinions on this topic. First of all, I really think the author did a wonderful job showing how MINCHEOL NEVER GREW UP. We see Mincheol wants (to own) Haesoo, to the point of seeing his own friend as a threat to his relationship with her. And he’s happy when she shows “jealousy”—but what he fails to realize is that Haesoo is afraid of losing her only savior. She’s emotionally and physically dependent on him, so she’s scared that college will change him. Mincheol is arrogant in thinking that he can solve Haesoo’s problems because he loves her and is the only one who can forge a happy future for themselves. Yes, he’s naive and in puppy-love mode, but the deeper sentiment is that he thinks he can control everything about Haesoo and her circumstances. It is totally a pride thing. And EVEN NOW, he thinks that Haesoo WOULDN’T DARE to leave him. Mincheol started naive and prideful then, and he’s still naive and prideful in the present!
Money and circumstances were a problem yes but I don't think they were a driving force. It might be a good excuse but, I don't believe he EVER loved or cherish her. Sure he liked her but I think he just wanted to be a hero. He has admitted that she was pretty so he choose her, you could say he wanted to be the superman to her Lois Lane. Even now, in his own way he cares for her but, he will never put Haesoo before his own needs or feelings.
Notice what the teacher said? Arrogant men like him, when faced with the real world/problems they get crushed. That's exactly what happened, instead of taking accountability for his life. He sulks, and wallows in self pity, and blames everyone else for his misfortune. Even if he didn't use his tuition money to run away, he still would've, somehow found a way to blame Haaesoo, if his life wasn't going to the way he envisioned. The same with the cheating. Had an opportunity presented itself earlier, best believe he would have taken it too. It's not his circumstances, poverty, that "changed him. It's literally just him. Given the environment he was raised in it makes sense how he grew to crave control and I think no matter what life he ended up choosing it was always destined to end this way. With or without money. The saying goes "money doesn't change people, it exposes them , for who they truly were to begin with". Thank you for coming to my ted talk!

Well said, however as smn who comes from similar background and ended up having similar relationships issues as Haesoo, I'd say that it's not 'saviour' that she saw in Mincheol, but just smn who cares for her, smn to be her family
When one is abused as a child, often they tend to feel like damaged goods, utterly unlovable and then when coming across smn that so passionately trying to convince you otherwise they feel as this is a miracle, they come across this one and only person who will cherish them
Actually, I think Taeha realized it really well, he knows she won't fall for big gestures, he could have get her great flat, car, anything, but she never wanted smn to come and save her, even tho it might be good for her to be saved
With Mincheol everything is spot on, ppl like him lack self discipline and they smtms explain treating smn the way he does as like 'well, she always take it, so they means she can handle it', he probably thinks she supposed to be eternally grateful and loyal to him and yeah, like all his fails and misfortunes are her fault
Really good writing in this story and great analysis
Thank you for coming to my ted talk as well

That’s what I’m saying though the minute things got hard in the real world he flipped the switch exactly like the teacher said. Like a volcano the worse their situation got the more he started to blame and resent Haesoo. Mincheol is a deadbeat through and through even though he has something good going with Ari he can’t relinquish Haesoo because he’s arrogant enough to think she’ll always be there for him to fall back on.
They were already broken long before Ari came into the picture and have been up to their knees in debt which had finally been paid off just enough to actually get a real job and chill (only Mincheol though cuz Haesoo was still working a million part time jobs even when he started).
I really think there just wasn’t an opportunity or he just couldn’t find someone who met his usual profile. Ari is naive and easily manipulated which is why he stays with her.

I think he did genuinely love her back then and it can be seen in little acts like not hitting Naesu's dad back because it will make her sad. He loved her with nativity and within his possibilities since from his backstory it doesn't seem like he had good examples of what real love was like. But he did love her which is really sad.
I do agree there was always something self serving in their relationship as well. He saw in Naesu not only someone to love but someone to give him purpose, someone to fight for, which in his definition is really a romantization of codependence, he wanted her to need him and only him so that she would never leave like others had done to him in the past. He wanted a connection to someone, one that could not be severed. It was not only her she loved it was what she made him feel: needed. And in his youth he was rash with how much he gave for this (of his own volition) and ended up resenting her for his own decisions.
He convinced her she couldn't live without him and that lie led him to feel contempt for her but the truth is HE was and always will be the one that needed her the most. All that contempt and all that hate he shows her were his from the start. He always hated himself so he needed her to love him.

I’m glad you like it! I’ll admit Haesoo’s feelings are little more hard for me to pick up on since I’m awful at subtext. But you’re probably right about her having low self worth and Mincheol definitely preyed on that but, I still think that it only worked so well because he saved her multiple times. They are both alone in the world and the fact that he kept coming back for her probably made her feel that Mincheol was her “miracle”. Which is why no matter how bad things got or how he treated her she could stay only leaving once she got true confirmation that he was gone first.

It’s true that you can love someone and hurt them at the same time so I can’t say I don’t agree. I suppose any love that existed was eventually clouded over as he grew to resent her. But at this point in the present timeline I think any attempt for him to care is solely to assuage his own feelings or just another thing for him to try and manipulate her with.

I stood up and applauded. You've got keen insight and I agree with almost everything you've mentioned. There's so much to be said about Mincheol. You know, OP used the scene of Mincheol's friend eyeing Haesoo as an example to reveal Mincheol's urge to possess her (Ch. 69). But I think it's more fitting to say he mostly felt abandoned and betrayed by his friend, which in turn intensified his feelings towards Haesoo, who'd never do such a thing to him.
And to triple down on this, I believe he still loves her strongly, albeit selfishly. I believe his love is mudded but also shaped by his ego, insecurity and self-righteousness. Because to love is to be yourself. His feelings are evident in how he reflects back to her character, the comfort of her cooking, how he still took her advice to go to the bank for the loan, although unsuccessfully. And most importantly in how he still needs her emotionally and existentially. There still resides the Mincheol only Haesoo can affirm, because they've spent the most evolutionary years of their lives together, amidst trauma and ambiguity. The most they've known is each other; they completed, created a safe space for, one another (Mincheol offered Haesoo freedom and respect, Haesoo offered Mincheol validation, earnesty, unconditional love), so now that he's separated from her, Mincheol is falling apart the way Haesoo is too. But he is coping by manifesting and externalising his insecurity exactly in the way you mentioned. He's so incredibly insecure that he can't help being addicted to Haesoo's devotion, he can't imagine who he'd be without her, because he isn't. He can be, but he's conditioned himself and Haesoo to believe otherwise.
I'm honestly upset by how often we try to project our own definition and interpretation of emotions, such as love, onto others, even when emotions are such a unique and subjective experience. And how we impose societal expectations onto individuals who haven't been raised by the standards these expectations foresee. Generally speaking, you can disagree with it, but love for Mincheol appears to be a mix of undefiled adoration towards Haesoo (purity), but also self affirmation (self-service): a grayed need for validation and reassurance, codependency, sacrifice, possession, a primal fervour. These can all be parametres of love, they aren't always romanticisation of "unhealthy" tendencies. Again, love ultimately reflects, if not derives from, who we are. And what you or I might consider unhealthy might be another's saving grace, precisely because we aren't meant to think, feel and exist in boxes, labels and textbook definitions.
Mama is really gone for good she was literally my favorite BRING HER BACK
