I get what you mean , but i feel like that is Arimas friendship/love for Kaneki so that he wouldn't have to kill him but still for Arima to die i just don't want that and so does kaneki, he doesn't really want to fight or kill Arima but he has no other choice if he wants to protect touka and the others.
I just hope he would let him life at the end like "I am Sorry i disappointed you and Thank you Arima/ father " as he sometimes called him.
I just hope we woun't be disappointed at the end(⌒▽⌒)
