If it makes you feel better, you're not alone. It was one thing when I thought the imprinting had been an accident. But knowing that he knew damn well, even as a kid, what he was doing is very disturbing. While I do think he didn't mean to kill Howoo's mom, he did mean to hypnotize her. Most likely because he wanted Howoo to himself, and didn't even want the mom to get in the way. Add to that, that he hasn't told Howoo that he was the esper that killed Howoo's mom, and it is even worse. No wonder his dad hates espers.
That's just next level obsessive, even for adults. As a kid, it makes me think sociopath. The romance no longer comes off as being as sweet and innocent as it did initially.
It just makes me feel kind of broken....
Just to note, when I say I don't think he meant to kill Howoo's mom, I mean that I think he wasn't immediately thinking "I want her to die." I think he was just thinking that he wanted her away from Howoo, and his water/ice power just came out due to his sudden rage and anger at not having Howoo all to himself.
If she hadn't died then though, I could see him possibly killing her on purpose later on, if he thought she was in the way.
The romance never felt sweet or innocent to me lol the whole time it gave ominous vibes. Only thing sweet and innocent here is Howoo
Uhhh bad, I think. As it turns out, the ML has been lying to the MC about when they first met and how the MC manifested as a “guide,” and he’s been using his secret mind control powers to trap the MC into a relationship with him. The big reveal that the ML killed the MC’s mom when they were kids and then covered it all up with mind control confirms that this man is batshit crazy and feels no guilt over any casualties that may be had in his pursuit of the MC
Yeah, I can't argue against that. I had hopes, and was peacefully floating down the river of denial up until these last two chapters. Now I'm in full horror movie mode with this. As I said, he is definitely a sociopath. I mean the dude nearly destroyed an entire city so that he could stay with Howoo.

He was a child he didn't kill her intentionally. But yes I do think that the MC deserves to know what's happening or what happened.
