I feel like the author of this one at least had the balls to not sugar coat the facts. Like this was straight up stockholm syndrome frok beginning to end. No for real! Like, don't get me wrong, I'm no saint, I love some stories that start off whack af (like low tide in twilight for example). There are times I do the same and shut off my brain because the story is so good yet they decide for NO REASON to include rape. I won't ever understand the point, especially when the authors are so clearly capable of writing good relationships (idk about this one, I didn't power through, but I'll trust your take that it's Stockholm syndrome).
