He was never going to be forgiven, considering too many traumatic times were associated with him. All he did was give Chiwoo false promises and apologies claiming to be better and change, but at a certain point Chiwoo had to do what was best for him. Also, Jihyun still had yet to get over Chiwoo, which was apparent in his sobbing at the end in the car, so he needs time to move on with his life and form healthy relationships, rather than clinging to toxic ones.
