but also my version of a happy ending would be if azusa got away from karino and the school and lived his happy lil life with his mom and his besties forever after
Agreed. Karino and Azusa are not good for each other. Their whole thing started with a toxic controlling competition. And them ending up together would just fuel Karino's possessiveness and Azusa's Stockholm syndrome.
Okay, like everyone else, I am also super sad about the fact that Ino does indeed eventually die, but at the same time I think it's really suiting for this couple? Idk over the course of these stories these two became my fav couple and it's hurts that they can't be together forever but I think the mechanics of it was done pretty well.
Like it's clear that a part of what makes ino different from lord/what khakis loves about him is that he doesn't want immortality, he's not after that kind of power and all he ever wanted to do was do right by the one family member he has left + to one day see his family again in the afterlife!
Also as of the current time period in the story (the triplets freshly born) ino and khakia have had about ....~20 years together already? And from the raws we kno they have even more time together, even if it's finite!! So don't despair
That being said I wonder why there couldn't have been a final storyline where khakia discovers the cure to his immortality and he dies and can reunite with ino in the afterlife but maybe that would be too much to cram into a few scenes at the end I guess

but it's actually nice at the same time - it kind of depicts a different version of a vampire's love, Khakia's love for Ino remains the same regardless the decision Ino makes, even to the extend that Khakia is determine to pursue someone that has a limited life span. It really kind of just show how great the love is and a different perception of vampire love rather than the common kind of "if you love me you will love turn immortal for me"
