The manga nearly just started. Slow pace romance is better than the "love at first sight" anyway. They're moving slow, sure, but if you pay attention, The wolf is slowly but surely starting to ease down a bit. He isn't the "edgy bad" wolf he was in the earlier chapters, but slowly learning that maybe he can give the marriage fiasco a chance. Or at least that's what I see

So, after the 5th birthday, Hersch needs a knight, and he gets one named Oran. Oran had a fiancé who died due to drug addiction which the prince has been looking into before the whole "selecting his knight". When Hersch finds Oran's knowledge on the drug circle in the kingdom, they try to bring it down but the main culprit escape. In this arc, the first prince (red hair in the cover) helps him and becomes more closer to the prince. Also, 1st prince and Oran used to be friends but after Oran's fiancé died, and 1st prince was too powerless to stop the drug empire, Oran hated the royal family until he met Hersch. The second volume ends with Oran also kneeling and claim loyalty to Hersch.
Also, the information broker in the series is a woman who is like 5000+ years old and is like demonic creature. She knows that Hersch is a reincarnated prince and gives two pieces of info. One to help him out with his drug case. Two was to never let go of the pocket watch. (She says that she can see soul attached to the prince and you can guess who...a certain count who drank from the chalice for the country).
