tbh a whole lot of people say they would never resort to cannibalism no matter what under any circumstances and you would be surprised how many of them will absolutely do it if they havent eaten in 12 days with no sign of help and there is a fresh body just sitting there. Not everyone of them but enough to show that when moral people are put in truly horrible scenarios suddenly integrity takes a back seat to survival. Dosn't mean they are going to keep it up when they get back to safety and dosnt mean they dont feel terrible about it just shows that desperate times calls for desperate means. People need to cut our girl a break she is just trying to get some help and is bargaining whatever she can to do it.
