I think what happened was that shin shot some gangster and he felt terrible about it cz if you remember when they first met shin said that he doesn't kill people and now he ended up doing it and he almost shot jake but he was able to stop him, they managed to get out of that junkyard after Jake finished almost everyone who was there except for Ross and they ran away together. The chapter ended with shin being so mad at Jake like he literally grabbed him from his shirt demanding answers ( who he truly is and what he actually does )
