This can be justified to a certain degree bc in terms of the main couple you can see that they genuinely care for each other and is actually trying their best to make it work also they have good communication and they act on it too, especially MJ, you can see that he’s trying his best to be better for the uke regardless of his mental condition and past traumas that’s making it hard for him (which if you think about it you gotta give him an applaus for not being full blown insane rn) besides, he was forced into that life and is trying to find a way out.
