Basically his personality is more or less the same as Cale and they have a very interesting relationship dynamic lol. They sarcastically mock each other and stuff, but they also seem to understand the other's personality the best. Imo, their relationship is also the one that grows the most throughout the story. While other of Cale's groups started off by having complete trust in him and listening to his orders, Alberu seems more or less like an equal and they both use each other to their benefits at first. However, as time passes, Cale is gonna be the person Alberu trusts the most and vice versa. To me, Alberu's growth is one of my favourite character development. There's a huge secret around Alberu (which I'm not gonna spoil) but it's great to see him find someone he can depend on to keep his secret for him and especially be comfortable around. That's why there are so many CaleXAlberu shippers.

Another thing you forgot to mention about their dynamic is that Cale loves to causally mention whatever crazy shit he is currently up to to Alberu which usually causes the prince to break character and call Cale a crazy bastard.
