Dan's character is not developing at all, he is as depressing as when he was with Jaekyung. It is not even the "he needs him" trope, because Jaekyung means reliving trauma.
And Jaekyung is not suffering enough to admit that he mistreated Dan and practically abused him. He is acting like a kid who lost his pet, so no, I can't feel bad for him yet.
