Didn't bystander MC got killed by Flame emperor just because he witnessed the murder scene? Plus when he turn back time he gave the Flame emperor a 2nd chance by baiting him and concluded that he is an incorrigible trash. If he can kill innocent bystander MC it isn't too far fetched that he also killed other innocent people.
Bro! I had to reread 3-4 times cuz I couldn’t get past ch.3O, I thought he was so pathetic and jealous and he was not justified for killing flame emperor as well. But I pushed through the 4th time and as I continued the story he was kinda right to kill him. And to make up for it spoiler…… he tried making other peoples lives alittle better even if it seemed it was only for his benefit he sacrificed a lot to make the lives of those who suffered within the tower better. His growth as a character is really good to me yet he still has a relatable side to him because he’s just human. He really goes above and beyond that it gets you in the feels. Anyways I don’t really know what I’m saying I just wanted to tell u my experience
If you were in his place why would u spare a witness and mc wasn’t thinking of something nice ,why was he even peeping at what they were saying , he should’ve just minded his business (I’m not excusing flame emperors actions but the mc is a hypocrite)

Flame Emperor was hailed as a hero with shitty personality at most. MC admires and is extremely envious of Flame Emperor is actually the most grounded and realistic portrayal of shut-ins who lives in social media. It's normal instinctive curiosity to look when you hear a person shouting "Kyaaah" and stay longer if it is suspicious.MCs isn't usually the mind-their-own-business type otherwise it wouldn't be a heroic growth.He didn't just went back in time and just killed him, he gave him a 2nd chance by testing him and behold still deserves death will be just a menace to society. Revenge isn't unjustified at all, MC didn't took revenge out of jealousy it was both revenge for himself and desire to kill a would be murderer guise as a hero.
Simply put MC initially desires fame and recognition like any other but will eventually grow as he climb the tower. It's from self-loathing to hero growth story. If you read further more you will see how much MC changed the original future saving many people by repeating regression via death compared to Flame Emperor's selfish solo growth.
Yes, that's right, mc is truly a pathetic person at first, you are not wrong about that. After all that's how he got his s skill, because of jealousy. But for me that's what makes him interesting rather than usual op and cool character, and on top of that much chapter later we can see how he grow to be a better person. Flame emperor actually become a big impact for him, since mc definitely doesn't want to end up like flame emperor, he become a good person.
It's up to you to try to continue this or not, but I say it's better to not forced it if you are going to continue to hate it (my bad but I really can't see any mc slander)
It took me a while to really give it a shot, I didn’t regret it because I really started to like the mc as a character. But don’t force it, read other stories first then come back to it if you’d like. Or read it as a filler/in between book until it’s starts to get interesting for you! maybe
At starting you may think mc is pathetic, but he becomes much better person, and changes other's lives too.
