i mean...yeonwoo did want that D. the only mean part was saying yeonwoo cant look at him but otherwise it was consensual and yeonwoo is a masochist with a degradation kink. u can argue that taehwan didnt know that whihc makes his actions questionable but not abusive or cruel. cause like...yeonwoo isnt a poor baby u need to protect who doesnt know better. he has self respect and knows what he wants. wish yall would stop infantalizing him like this. its ok to not like taehwan without making yeonwoo into a victim that needs saving from a bad man.

I get what you're saying, it's true Yeonwoo was was not being forced into anything, so he doesn't need any saving and there is no denying that he enjoys kinky stuff judging by his past relationships. Although in my personal opinion he is making questionable choices and this where I would disagree with him having self respect. Like why go to the dude who said oh was the reason you came to America was so you could do stuff like this or insinuating that he only befriended Taehee and Dojin to do stuff like this. It's ok to have a degradation kink or if you are a bit of a masochist, but why not find a partner where it's clear that you are both into it. Why stick with the dude who has internalized homophobia problems. What's so special about Taehwan? I think the reason people are saying this "relationship" is toxic and that Taehwan treats Yeonwu like trash is because of his behavior towards Yeonwoo. Like when he says oh I get angry whenever I look at him or it pisses me off that you get turned on when you look at me, but then proceeds to say if you want me to forgive you then me satisfy me. I mean didn't Taehwan say he is not gay and that he doesn't like when people think of him like that, for someone who doesn't want that you sure are giving off the wrong impression dude. Especially towards someone who you know has feelings towards you. I would actually argue that Taehwan thinks he is better than Yeonwoo and thinks that Yeonwoo has no self respect and that Taehwan actually enjoys that himself.....so maybe they are a match made in heaven? ( I say this sarcastically btw).

i do see what ur saying, dont get me wrong, this is why im trying to htink about yeonwoo's side of things cause we can make all kinds of interpretations about taehwan's motivations here but yeonwoo's feelings are Very clear and i dont think he deserves to have those feelings invalidated as pathetic or lacking self respect. cause so far nothing was done to yeonwoo that would cause real damage to him and idt yeonwoo is unaware of That.
As for Taehwan, this is what i think. Firstly, when he said " did u come to america to do things like this" i dont know that he meant jumping on random dudes so much as using dojin and taehee as a bridge to hit on taehwan. it makes MORE sense that taehwan would assume that (because those two guys are the closest people to taehwan, and yeonwoo would DEF know that taehwan is super close with his brother since they used to be friends) than for him to assume that in order to meet The Gays that yeonwoo would seek out a committed couple, neither of whom are connected with the larger queer community in the US? if that's the case he'd leave it at "is this why you came to america?" and ofc its TRUE that yeonwoo came to the US in part to be gay in peace, but its NOT true that he did it to stalk taehwan, that's why yeonwoo freaks out and denies it so strongly.
I think more people need to understand that just cause u see yeonwoo as smol and harmless that doesnt mean taehwan does. think about it, taehwan clearly was close to and adored yeonwoo, yeonwoo was his safe space and then when his guard is down, yeonwoo kisses him without warning. THIS shocks him. and i dont think taehwan is over it, or he wouldnt be SO mad. i also think that he's not fully aware of whatever he's feeling or why. just that his knee jerk reaction is anger. which isnt an unfair thing to feel in his situation. like taehwan imo isnt angry cause gay boi DARED to be hot for him but because yeonwoo's actions made taehwan question their entire friendship. was yeonwoo's kindness sincere? was his friendship real? or was yeonwoo just trying to get taehwan to sleep with him? we dont know taehwan's trauma from school but we do know based on the comic so far that it involved being called "gay" AND that he was not able to sleep in his Host Family's home back during highschool. so he's not just napping but catching up on much needed rest. i thinkt he problem here is that peopel continue to see Taehwan as a bully and Yeonwoo as a victim but from Taehwan's perspective...Yeonwoo isnt a cute silly baby he can manipulate or act out his hidden gay tendencies on. Yeonwoo is a predator or at least an opportunist and a liar. Taehwan doesnt respect him that's true but its NOT cause yeonwoo is gay! its because he thinks yeonwoo decieved him, its because yeonwoo betrayed him. So ya I DO think Tae's being petty and intentionally saying things to mess with yeonwoo but i think thats cause taehwan is still feeling the sting of what happened many years ago between them, whether HE realizes that or not. but ya thats my interpretation it hasnt been spelled out in the story but imo there's more evidence in the text for this read of taehwan and their dynamic than the one that seems more popular here.
Like taehwan's behavior seems less cruel when u think from his pov that yeonwoo's just ACTING pitiful. that he's not sincerely sorry or truly misses their friendship. he thinks yeonwoo JUST wants sexual contact so thats why taehwan reacts in this way. Since taehwan cant rly cut yeonwoo out of his head/heart the way he wants, this way allows maintain like emotional distance and protect whatever vulnerabilities he has. cause he has alot but he refuses to show it or engage with it per his own brother's words. and from his perspective he can justify his cold words as okay because yeonwoo is just a little pervert anyway and prob likes it. (which we know he DOES, that part is true, its the rest of these assumptions tae has wrt yeonwoo that arent.). this was rly suppsoed to be a one time thing too which will be clarified in the next chpt. so like taehwan wasnt making a plan to use yeonwoo's body as revenge long term either. (i wont spoil further than that but most of my interpretation is purely from what's been released in english NOT the raws)
