Ok so I wanna make it clear they’re middle schoolers in this flashback and they’re only 15-16 so for u guys who wanted this to be yaoi make it only in ur dreams (sorry if it sounded a bit harsh). When they graduated in high school Jian Yi was kidnapped by his father underlines or something (Ch.46) and disappeared three years equivalent of the whole time he should be in high school! So they’ll be 18-19 when they’ll graduate into the uni in the future when Jian Yi will came back and I think the timeline makes a bit of sense I guess

But to be honest I’m also a bit confused about HT’s disappearance bcause a part of the fandom supposes that HT will disappear just after Jian Yi’s missing (probably related to it) and will come back only on christmas. However other pple think that HT came back just after Jian Yi’s return and then disappeared and reappeared again on Christmas (probably after a long trip like u say)! And now we also have He Tian’s transferring in the plot so we don’t know ever if he’ll really transfer or not and if yes was that the reason of his disappearance?! So on the special christmas chap we can just say that Jian Yi is already back and HT also came back discovering Mo’s new apart which he should knew sooner if he was with him bcause come on we talk about his lil Mo here! So it’s sure he was missing for a while but the reason why he was missing is really ambiguous! Then I guess we can only make suppositions about HT’s disappearance since oldxian didn’t make that part really clear mostly for my poor braincells >:)
