True but people aren't going to involve you in the process of making YOUR gift. He doesn't realize that's what they're doing. He just thinks their putting everything into this next live performance. It hurts to see him like this and compare it to what happened with Yuki but I think he'll feel better after he talks to his band dads :3

Correct, Jubie! What's the purpose of a "surprise" when the person you're doing it for is "included" in the process. Defeats the purpose. That's the point and the root of their misunderstanding.

Sighh..... poor bb. Reminds me of when Hiiragi made the realization and told Mafuyu that while Yuki was making music for him, that Mafuyu in his heart wanted Yuki to ask him to somehow be involved

Also, this behavior is super relatable. For someone like me who is generally anxious, awkward, introverted and antisocial, even harmless things like a bf hanging out happily with other people can be so painful (oh man this chapter brought up so many heavy memories from HS hahaha). Tough for Mafuyu because he already felt something like this happen before. It doesnt matter what they were working on, or that it was all for Mafuyu etc. Someone anxious like him will not feel good, period.

Gift???? Saying that it’s a gift is a not right. I don’t think Hiragi wants to finish Yuki’s song with Uenoyama because it’s a gift for Mafuyu. Mafuyu was finally able to deal with his feeling of grief and loss........ and this time, I feel that completing Yuki’s unfinished song with Uenoyama’s help is the way for Hiragi and Shizu to finally have their own closure with their feelings of grief and loss....... Sure, it may help Mafuyu but it can also open a wound that just recently healed.
