I 100% agree, I think it's a lot of deep-rooted misogyny, even in Yaoi, they allow the mc and mls to be vulnerable and dumb and make horrible/horrific decisions but as soon as any female character does anything that the reader disagrees with, she's all of a sudden a crybaby, dislikable, and stupid etc.

You were talking about in general, ppl baby the MLs and are harsh on FLs. I was talking about other stories, same as what you first said.

In majority of all manhwas and mangas, people will usually side with the FL no matter what she does and bash the ML if they do any slight wrong or thing they don’t like. The only ones who do the opposite are minority, and are the type of readers who usually like pointing out stupidity of any characters in general. Though they can be unnecessarily harsh at times.

It could be that we do read different manhwas. But I also think it’s more so that you focus a lot more on the negative readers rather than the positives. I see a ton of people in the defense of the FL here and always in other stories. I’m not saying there’s no hate on her at all as I have seen it, but then the rest of the comments and replies support the FL and bash the hater lmao.

The only times where I see FLs mostly hated on is if the FL repeatedly does dumb things which causes the comments to constantly call out such actions. Being annoyed and pointing out actions they didn’t like a character did, shouldn’t equal bashing. The proof is if you go to the home page and click on the shoujo manga top 10, then sort the shoujo manga tag by popularity 9 times out of 10, everyone shows support to the FLs. Stories where majority hate on the FL are very rare in comparison. I’m also reading selfish romance and I can tell you right now, that majority love both the FL and ML. I think you either pay too much attention to negative comments or mistake pointing out things ppl dislike in specific updated chapters as bashing.
