I just noticed they are the same characters as "Strange way of love", but like in another world. Though, the art style of this mermaid looks better than the other guy of the story who I haven't read.

Problems with ghost is that it may not be forever be there. Unless they only had an Out-of-body experience. That their physical body lies in vegetative state somewhere nearby. Lets hope for the latter one.
