Yes, iirc in novel Lian Jue really did go to school and collected him from there then took him back home. I think he also praises him or something like he said before. Soon after he recieves the call and he rushes to get Weiwei. But he was patient unlike he is shown in this chap.

Yeah, it isn't very long either. However the epilouges make me feel iffy though they are in a way realistic. The author probably tried to take a realistic take at it but it didn't land properly? Idk..
