i didn’t realize that- when i read yaoi i end up ignoring a lot of the commen red flags for the enjoyment of the story. i read for funies. definitely not to use my brain power. while i don’t agree with everything i read, its so engrained into the genre i close my eyes and move on. thats why stories without those tropes end up standing out at the end of the day.
