They will fight! And there will be monsters from a side attack that Maxi will notice herself and put all her mana into saving many people. She will be quite injured though and it turns out she was pregnant and has had a miscarriage! Riftan is furious that he could have lost her (and that she didn't listen) and sends her home.
But her father finds out about the miscarriage and takes her home to him, and manipulates Maxi into saying that Riftan wants a divorce etc. Her father locks her up and she gets food once a day, can't go anywhere and can't talk to anyone.
Riftan and the knights come to her father to understand if she really wants a divorce like everyone says *rumors made up* (Riftan almost starts to believe it himself) and Riftan enters a room and sees Maxi being beaten all bloody by her father!
